Planning resources

Describe the invoice, the message and the access.

Use this checklist for your own notes. This page does not collect billing data.

Signup and trial

  • What service is included in each plan?
  • When does the trial end and what happens next?
  • Which provider and application records establish the account state?
  • What does the customer see when an initial payment needs action?

Renewal and failure

  • What proves the renewal and updates access?
  • How are a delayed event and a failed payment handled?
  • Which messages are sent, by which system?
  • Who reviews an unresolved mismatch?

Change and cancellation

For a fictional monthly membership upgrade, write down the effective date, expected adjustment, confirmation message and access change. Repeat that exercise for a downgrade and cancellation. The business approves the commercial rules.

Provider context

Stripe's subscription webhook guidance describes using invoice and subscription events to keep application access in step with billing. Review the current provider state and the actual integration rather than relying on a single success screen.

Testing and handoff

Use isolated accounts to follow the agreed cases through the full lifecycle. Record expected and actual invoices, messages and access. Give staff the exception owner and a safe investigation path.

Discuss the first lifecycle case or review the project process.
